A review of Weston Park Primary School by Vivienne Allen nee Bidwell written on Saturday 15th of March 2025
I also was at Kingsweston House after The House in the Garden school . I was in Douglas Mays class. I remember lining up in the playground strictly no talking and entering on a whistle command. Lunches were in the area by the hanging staircase and some rooms still had blackout curtains, when we walked up through the woods we stuffed our pockets with beech nuts to eat secretly in class.
We were one of the first classes to go to Weston Park junior school Lawrence Weston and our form teacher was Mrs Whitfield . Her son Harry was in her class too. She read us chapters from The Cruel Sea by Nicholas Monserrat which gave me a lifelong love of reading . Mr Morris taught us country dancing and the boys were allowed to choose their partners -my partner Douglas May! We also played Shinty a vicious form of Hockey in Summer.
Hi to all my former classmates hope you’ve all had a good life xx
I.
