A review of Apple Store by Disappointed Apple customer written on Tuesday 18th of July 2017
Awful experience. iPhone 6s has issues with charging. First time I went, the guy at the so-called "genius" bar cleaned out the port; when that didn't work, decided that it was physically damaged, and because it's money-grabbing Apple, and their lazy Cabot Circus staff, that I would have to drop 300 quid for a replacement. I went elsewhere and got the port replaced for 40 pounds, but alas, the same problem. It must be a software issue, as originally suspected (by me - not even considered at the genius bar). So I went back, was greeted by the same guy (didn't remember me). This time he didn't even look at my phone, and told me the same thing - replace it. Insisted it wasn't a software problem, and persisted pushing a new phone as the only alternative to him doing his job and passing on my phone to someone who actually knows what they're doing. I got the distinct impression that this guy was selected to greet customers at the genius bar and politely, but uncompromisingly, turn them away so that the rest of the staff could carry on pretending to be busy. Am going to the Cribbs Causeway store in a few days, hopefully they'll actually do their job there..
